Buying Advice Used Kubota L5030

Good luck, it sure is a nice little tractor. You might want to check on wheel spacing and if not set to the widest position, have the dealer throw that in.

OP -
You didn't mention FEL/Loader, tires or rear remotes.

Are the tires loaded? will you want them loaded? With what? That something easily done at the dealers, more difficult at home.

If it has a pair of rear remotes that makes it better, if not see what the dealer would charge to throw them in. Often adding later is around $1,000.

Before you do that check the dimensions pf what YOU are going to transport it with. I bought my trailer w/ my B7610 in 2009. 78" between the wheel wells. I bought my M4700 at auction in 2013. It was set with the tires needing 80" plus. My sons and I had to "flip" the loaded rears around, they weigh about 650 lbs each. Most of my terrain is pretty flat so I'm leaving them "narrow".

Yeah that would make a difference, I didn't see any indication he would be transporting his own equipment though thus my recommendation. My advice on extending the width was specific only to the L5030 as we found it best on ours, some of our other tractors are set, narrow, medium and wide depending on the machine.

Each owner's needs may well vary naturally just trying to offer some of my experience with this particular tractor.

Well I put the deposit on it. Hopefully I can get it in a couple of weeks.

Sorry I forgot to mention it has the FEL, and a set of remotes. The tires are already loaded with antifreeze.

I am not sure if I will be hauling or not. I am getting a few prices since it is around a 4 hour trip one way.

I will try to post pics when I get it.

If you do decide to haul it home yourself you'll need at least a 10K trailer. The tractor, loader, and loaded tires are probably close to 6500-7K. Too heavy for a regular 7K car trailer.

I owned a 5030HST with a FEL for 10 yrs. Bought it new put 2000 hrs on it and the only issue I had was the was bad battery and the dealer installed a new one. Great Tractor !!!! If I remember right it was 6400lbs. with loaded tires and me on it . Good Luck !!

Sorry for the late reply, but I got the tractor a little over 2 weeks ago. I will try to post pics when I learn how as i know it doesn't count without pics.

There were a few dealer issues that upset although they are fixing them. I had emailed them a list of everything that needed looked at/done on the tractor before I got it. The salesmen sent the list to the tech so no miscommunication happened. We set up delivery when the salesman said the tech told him everything was done on the list. After receiving the tractor, i realized everything was not done.

Two tire stems still did not have caps - Not a huge deal but it was on the list.

The Cruise still did not work - When you push the lever down, it does not stay in position. I am going to make another post about this as I have questions regarding the fix.

Also, I noticed the tires spinning easy and found the rear tires were not loaded although they assured me a couple of times they were and it was in their ad that they were.

The dealer is making it right. They are mailing me stem caps and told me to take it and fill the tires and they would pay for it. I talked to the one manager and he said the cruise probably just needed tightened as they loosen the tension on rental for safety reasons. I told him no problem but when I looked under the tractor the cruise spring was missing.

All in all, I am very pleased with the tractor and happy with the response from the dealer although it should not have been needed. I would like to start using the tractor more than have to get the wrongs righted on it.
