Let's just say, once you have one you will wonder how you got along without it.

bcp, Your pic looks like a tpl box (without a back door) in the tipped position. I suppose no back door makes it a scoop rather than a box. Google "tractor link box" for lots of images. John Weetman - for Compact Tractors in Horsham, Sussex and South East England has a good close up photo of a small box, showing the rear door and shape of the floor for loading direct into the box on a flat or loose surface. The rear door has to be removed of course if you want to use it for self-loading. I could never imagine farming without a tpl box, but have not had a FEL for over 30 years and never missed it.

I'm a contractor and lots of guys I know have those 4-6 ton street dump trailers, some gooseneck, some ball hitch.

I personally just have a tandem axle 16' 7000lb trailer and a 12' single axle 3500lb. I doubt I would ever fool with a dump trailer, I think I would scour around to find one of those isuzu NPR single axle dump trucks used.

I always figured the NPR had the transmission and axle to handle that much weight better than a pickup. Sure wouldn't want to burn a clutch pack out of my transmission knowing I was hauling materials meant for a dump truck.
