Very cool!!!! Did you design that??
The "spring" thingy was already there when I bought the machine, but I did modify it with the triangle plate and added a chain, The spring shock was welded to the frame also and I ground it off and made the stopper plate, I didn't like the angle of the frame before. Heres a pic of what it looked like before....

You have gotten good advise so far.

Go with the chains. Thats a lighter duty plow and not made to take the abuse of a rigid set-up.

And ditto keeping the a-frame level. That keeps it level when you angle. I like the idea of a skid shoe or two on the SSQA plate. Makes it easier with the loader to return the lift to the same "level" spot everytime.

The part that is wore down is refered to as a cutting edge. About $100. I get edges for my plow from angelos-supply

This is how I mounted my plow to the pallet fork frame. It can pivot up and gravity has it resting down against the frame.
