Using rear remotes for grapple - as simple as I think?

That's odd;I can stop my third function grapple in any position(Kubota factory set-up)

Sorry , the point i was reinforcing was that you can not feather the motion or rate of closing or opening speed by varying the rate of fluid flow. 3rd function is somewhat of an on/ off control of the grapple cylinder(s)

I did not intend to suggest that the grapple could not be stopped in any particular position.

It's a simple push button. If you want to stop in any particular position, left off the button. If you want to just wiggle it a little, tap the button.

If you don't have a use for the rear remote and/or rarely use the FEL 3rd function go for the hoses to the rear route. Certainly cheaper.

Right overszd

Agree totally, the 3rd function is Much preferred if you want to only use 1 hand for the grapple and FEL functions.

I sometimes have to let go of the steering wheel and use the left hand for FEL stick and then the right hand for the remote handle to work the grapple in certain conditions.
3rd function has it's advantages for sure.

It sounds like I am lucky with my cab setup my remote is literally at my elbow next to the armrest while my hand is on the loader joystick and they operate to the left and right instead of foward and backward, so I can operate both with one fluid motion without having to let go of anything.
My 80hp Mahindra that was actually owned by the property I managed was a totally diffrent story, the westendorf loader was added on and they used set it up to use the rear remotes instead of adding a joystick, and the remotes were even with the seat backrest.
You want to talk about one huge PITA! needless to say that tractor didnt stay around long...

Other than that it was a good tractor had it been mine I would have added a joystick but he did not want to do that and we opted to get rid of it and get a dozer anyway
