All off road diesel is ulsd. Here in NH heating oil is the only lsd available
I just want to make sure the dyed diesel I'm getting is 15ppm sulfur. The supplier and even the JD dealer can't tell me what it is. This is a large supplier "LYKINS energy". Corporate may know but the local distributor it's just dyed farm diesel. JD dealer said it may just smoke some more? Haven't been able to really get a straight answer from either. So I guess I'll rely on TBN that's it's ALL ULSD. I don't want to mess up a new tier 4 engine and as my wife calls it a $17k lawnmower
can't believe there is still even a discussion here on this topic. the only high sulfur diesel imho would be in private stock reserves that (i'm sure) given the market place, could still be had. but why bother?
is this a discussion about what is available in diesel or just heating oil? just askingThat is not true. Like i said, here in NH #2 heating oil is lsd 500 ppm and readily avail. Every heating oil co in my area only carries this. I bother because it is 40 cents a gal less than off road diesel. You are right that it is not high sulfur diesel.
The last heating oil I purchased was about 7 years ago. It was #2 high sulfur dyed diesel. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't the same. The fill cap on the 2015 tractor says ULSD ONLY! I'll admit I'm somewhat new to diesel fuel other than that. I purchased a compact diesel '04 tractor a year ago . It would probably run ok on anything. Ultra , low, high, extra high and not have any problems
Huh? I'm not considering using heating oil. Just wanted to make sure all dyed diesel wasn't the same as what I bought 7 years ago. My oil fired boiler is long gone thank goodnesssorry, apologize to you & liberty 2701, didn't realize from OP that you were considering burning heating fuel as well. cheers
