Wish I could justify two. I'd have an open station and a cab model. Love my open station in nice weather. Wish for a cab on bad days. :)

Very nice! I considered the 850 but after finding out there was no factory cab and the doors alone were $3000 I went with diesel. Mine is purely work (and for plowing) so it should be fine.

Factory cab will probably be on next years model....

I didn't even price the doors to be honest. When I found out what the electric bed lift cost, I kind of got cold feet on add on's I didn't buy it, my wife did and it's her's not mine but I still have to maintain it (not drive it, just take care of it). Came last week. So far my wife has driven it up town (I got to put my lawnmower gas can in the back because it needed gas (buggy and lawnmower) so she pulled right up to the gas pumps and I filled the buggy and my gas can and paid for both. Scoots right along. Got the fold down windshield, rearview mirror and the sport hardtop, turn signals and 4 way flashers to make it street legal here in Michigan. She got the steel wheels with the regular 'worksite' tires, not the bar tread ones like quads have. Told her the steel wheels were easier to take care of. They get some rust on them, little sandpaper and a rattle can and new again.

Windshield is a must. Being old farts like we are, tooling down the road and eating bugs don't seem like a fun thing.

Got a winch for it, a 5000 pound Harbor Freight one. Had a 25% off coupon, winch cost me 135 bucks. Have to put it on yet. Kubby wanted 600 for a winch.

Strangely, unlike Kubota tractors and their standard 50 hour service, the Sidekick requires a 20 hour oil and filter change. Nit sure what that is all about but I'll comply. Filter is very acccesable and so is the drain plug. Could be because it's a Subaru engine, not sure. Transmission takes UDT or SUDT and so does the front diff. Coolant (it's water cooled) is not standard Kubota fare either. Instead of the usual ethylene glycol Kubota standby, they call out extended life Global.

So far it's been up to about 30 mph. Being old, we aren't speed demons.

I know one thing for sure it will be doing soon (and I'll be using it) and that is I'll be picking apples to make cider. In years past I used a wheelbarrow. This year I'll be using the Sidekick. I have a real nice cider mill and I usually make about 20 gallons of cider which vanishes pretty quick.

Tomorrow, I'll make a photo shoot. It is cute in orange and black.....

Ovrsd..... Only reason I own 2 Kubota M's is at my age, switching heavy implements can be a real chore so having 2 makes implement switching drudgery less. I had 3 but sold one. 3 was a bit crowded in the barn with all the other implements and the hay too. 3 was even easier, I kick myself for selling the one I did.

Switching implements is definitely the bain of equipment ownership.

Let us know what you think of it after you get it into real work. In our use of UTV's over 10+ years of trail work, we never needed a power lift box.

For an additional 800 bucks, my wife didn't either.......:D

In process of installing the 5000 pound winch. We looked at the diesel UTE's but they were too slow and this one has a super low low range if I need it and in typical Kubota style, it has a foot operated differential lock for the back axle and limited slip in the front. Pretty heavy at 1765 pounds dry but it has great acceleration. 42 top end. Think we have had it up to maybe 30.

Some pictures....

I struggled to see the sidekick in that first pic. Couldn't help bu focus on the Ford in the background. :)

If you like older Ford OBS trucks (in mint condition), I can understand that. It's a 97 F350 4x4 crew cab with a built 7.3 and a built E4OD. 99K miles, never seen snow (stays garaged all winter). Bought it new in 97. Great truck. Farm truck in the summer and hauls our truck camper too.

You are supposed to be looking at the Sidekick, not the truck.....:D
