I like the Kubota....but the best built one not he market? It is a great side by side that is built extremely well from what I can see....but there are several others that are great as well. I would hate to call one of them the "best"....that is a subjective statement. They each shine in their own ways. And please don't take this wrong. I LOVE Kubota....and I like their RTV....and I could easily own one, but I own another brand.

Very subjective for sure. If you’re wanting a play machine the kubota is way down the list but want something that will work all day and love it the kubota is the king. I wish mine would go faster as does most that have them but when spraying or moving a trailer how easy it does it can’t compare to anything with a belt.

I would of bought the Kabota RTV if it came with a front locking differential, I do like how the rear end unlocks but when the going gets tuff I like 4 wheel drive so I bought the Rhino, no longer made. But what I dont like about the Rhino is the rear end wont unlock and the low range is to fast.

I don't like everything Kubota makes, but if you're looking for a heavy duty diesel UTV, I agree with WilliamBos that the RTV X models are some of the best. The big surprise to me was how they compared to Deere -- I was a little disappointed with the Deere models.

I have a Rhino and an RTV900. Only comparison is they both have four tires.

My needs are purely farm work. While I can't say I would NEVER take it on a trail, it would most likely be 'working related' anyway. I've driven the RTV 1140 and I think it would do everything I would need.

The things I want to address are:

Weight: I want to minimize the ruts/depressions I make on my property when I need to work off road.
HP: I don't have a lot of hills, but everything I have is slightly up or slightly down. I don't want to go 'Fred Flintstone' just to get to the barn.
4wd: I have not use for being stuck. End of story.
Diesel: I have OFD delivered for my tractor and I want to make life easy. I also want the power and reliability.
Carrying capacity: This is perhaps one of the biggest reasons I like the 1140. 80% of the time it will likely be in 2 person configuration with a longer bed. But when friends/guests arrive, I'd like the option to move them around the farm easier. Also, we have an old dog, and I don't know how long he will be able to run along side. So, I'd like a seat, but still be able to haul things.
Powered dump: I'm not getting younger but I am getting wiser.
Quality: Nothing I hate more than fixing things which shouldn't be broken.

I don't necessarily forsee it being used for plowing, or towing other than small trailer for specific type of work. But it would be used OFTEN for work hauling. I'd much rather have the 'Utility' of a UTV rather than the 'size' of a truck.

I am not opposed to a Samurai or some such, but other than haul me personally around, it really wouldn't do what I desire without some significant modification.

William B and I have actually been talking about this. Replacing our ATV's the next time with new Jeeps. Same price as these new UTV's but you can drive them down the highway.

The prices are ridiculous. Especially when you look at build quality. My new Polaris is garbage compared to my 04 and 09's. They aren't worth the price for what is actually in them.

A polaris is a high performance engine on an incredible suspension.....that is about it....they are fast, powerful, and ride like a dream....

I tried the jeep route....too heavy and I couldn't take it the same places I can take my side by side.

We dont have the 50” trail regs up here like in the USA.
Like Paystar said, a UTV is not happening for me, no value for the money conpared to a TJ/JK/JL. I love riding my Polaris atv, but have no interest in a UTV.

A Jeep is more comfortable, more powerful, and more practical.
