Ok on that, thanks muchNot critical, enjoy winter and sleep easy.
If tractor is running well no power loss or excess smoke, then I agree it is not super critical. Having said that, routine maintenance is to be performed close to the indicated time frame to avoid issues.
If clearances are too tight (which can happen if the valves or seats wear, not that unusual) it'll sound and run fine right up until it burns a valve.
I had my local general mechanic check mine at 1200 hrs. It was still in factory specs. He used the pages from my WSM to make sure he did it right.
Ron
I have a B3350 and 750 hrs, this year it seems to take longer to start, (warm weather) Filters are all good, including fuel filter. Valve adjustment? I ask this because my brothers 2650 fires right up, like the old ford straight sixes.
Other problem
Now temps are getting down in the 30痴 at night and glow plugs at 45 sec don稚 seem to help. Stored in pole barn every night. How do I check the glow plugs?
I guess my question is, is it normal for a emissions diesel to take say 7-10 sec to start?
