Ventrec PTO

Got a diesel Ventrac and after it's been running an hour or so the PTO won't kick on without some rocking
Back and forth. Any ideas on where I should look first ?
Just wanted to post in case anybody else has this issue.

The friction plates in the electric clutch can wear. Procedure is to adjust the 3 spring-loaded nuts around the clutch unit. Use a .020" feeler gauge through the access holes in the side of the clutch.

I checked and adjusted mine at 200 hours. It was a bit tight and set a little out of kilter, that is the three check points were a bit different. I set all to spec. Tip, set the largest of the three first, then the next to largest and then the last. The last one may end up a bit snug before adjusting. When finished, all three check spots should match. I had to remove the hood/front grill assembly to access the check windows.
