I've had the same three chainsaws for over 20 years, might be time to get a new version. Same wood furnace for 15 years too, probably something better on the market by now. USStove Co. bought from TSC.

There is nothing wrong with moving up in the chainsaw world. I used to have a nice McCulloch Pro Mac 610 and 650. Both were great saws and did everything that I wanted them too. Replacement parts are far and few between nowadays and the price for them is high. You also have to wait to get them. So if you are in a hurry to get a job done or some trees cut. You may just be spending a week or two waiting for your oil pump to arrive. Not to mention the weight of those saws compared to the Husky's I now own. I sold both of them and got more than I thought they were worth for them. I went out and bought a brand new Husky 55 Rancher. Three years ago I found a Stihl 210 for $100.00 that was only used for a few hours. Last year I found another 55 Rancher for $100.00 and a 262XP for $200.00. I also have a small McCulloch top handle Pro saw for limbing if I have to go up in a tree. My saw corrral is now full. Sta-Bil keeps them ready for the next time I need to use them. Life is so much easier if you have the tools to do the job.

So, I just wanted to say, good stuff, and I'm glad I'm not the only nut. :D

I'm not so sure that's true. IMO, only a true nut would own a mill without a lathe. How else do you make square stuff round? Or make your own bushings or........:)

You can do all those things with a mill. All you need is a rotating chuck and some end mills, finish reamers and the like. I've seen some remarkable things made on a mill and a lathe over the last 30 years. The same goes for owning a lathe and wanting to make square pieces out of round stock. All you need is a milling attachment for the lathe and an indexing chuck.

Oh, the lathe is next on the list. In fact I'm running power for it right now. The cost of the of the accessories to make round stuff on the mill may cost more than a lathe:eek:

That sure is the truth. I picked up an older LeBlond 13 with quickchange gearbox, tooling and chucks for $400.00. The seller had just bought a house from a guy that owned it. It was left behind after the sale. The seller wanted it gone. I did have to dis-assemble it to get it out of the basement. Now I just need to make rook in my garage for it. Right now it is being stored at the old farm we have. I did manage to clean it up and paint it before winter came.

So, where on the list is the TIG machine ? :)

For your storage problem, how about a pallet rack or two (if you have the room)
