Lloyd,

I'd move in a heartbeat to N.S. if you had our weather up there year round. It would be to get away from the ignorant people and stupid drivers here. They do allow guns up there right? There are so many nice provincial parks up there and so much to do if you are the outdoor's type. We camped all over up there years ago in a tent. My wife's idea of camping now would be the Day's Inn.

Afternoon Jim,
Your wife must have gone to the same school as mine ;) :)

I apologize to ww_kayak for taking over the thread.

But I just don't get. When she's at a horse show it is OK to:
• Stand around in the rain, mud and horse ****
• Lift heavy bales of hay
• Listen to C&W music
• Eat fast food
• Sleep were you can and sometimes in a tent

But, get her to go camping and...

Lloyd

PS: here is a trick - when she got her new car several years ago I tuned all the radio stations to country. Since she doesn't read manuals it took her awhile to get her stations programmed in!!!

I did the same thing to the truck!!!!

Jim,

Hate to tell ya. We get the same style of weather as you - often it is your weather - what's left of it. If we get a nor'easter usually it carries on down towards you. I watch the Boston weather station every morning to see what kind of weather we will get within 24 hour. Usually 90% correct. Also, because we stick out in the Gulf stream more our temps are slightly higher. Summer is really hot up here. Usually so hot it is not safe to work outside for long hours. I prefer spring and fall seasons for working outside - don't sweat as much.

We are allowed guns. I don't hunt. But I do like venison. Ask me about the 112 sausages I made this past fall sometime!!!

Our area is over run with deer. Nothing to spot 8-12 in the pasture daily. I have counted as many as 22 and have counted up to 72 within a 10 minute drive.

Last year I went through alot of bird feed. Come to find out the deer were bobbing the feeders and eating the spilled seed from the ground.

We do have stupid drivers. See Egon's thread in December about radiators.
Unfortunately our roads are not as pleasent to drive on - hard on the vehicles etc.

Lloyd,

I know it is warm up there in the summer. We've been to Fundy many times over the years. I didn't know that your winters were the same as ours. Hhhm, Maybe I can talk the wife into moving up there. She likes the British Columbia area too.

I know about your deer problems. Dang near had me a few one time in Fundy driving back to our campround. They walked right out in front of us. We also saw plenty of deer up there everytime we went. Nightime is the worst as they walk right out into the roads. I have at least a ton of rocks from New Brunswick beaches scattered all over my yard. You folks seem to have an overabundance of them up there. The Customs lady just smiled when I told here what we were bringing back.

Nice thread. yes, them toys get expensive, but the information is priceless. It was TBN I got convinced to start using air tools for my jeep wrenching. TBN is like the college for hands on guys, IMHO :D

Is there a tractor attatched to the loader at the end of the building? Looks just like one I have that came off of an old TO20 Furgeson (I think) that we used to have.

Hi Scott, I think it is an age thing with women.

BTDT,

It's a Cockshutt 30 with a Wagner loader.

It's in semi-retirement. Works when it wants to. Needs restoration.
My dream tractor is a kioti 45 hst with cab, loader and bh.

Yept,
Decided to get a plasma cutter because I was not good at cutting with AO.
got the plasma and it worked so good that with a block of wood to rest my arm I could do a lot better than I ever could with AO.
But I then started to look at a plasma cutting table,
Looked at most all of the units and the things they could do even if they did cost way to much for an old mans hobby.----------
Well I got a PlasmaCam last week and modified my cutter to work with the machine and decided I did not have enough room for a metal cutting machine in my wood working shop and with all the sawdust, was afraid I would burn the shop down so I am building a fireproof room on the carport to the shop with a water pan, blowers and walls lined with flashing etc.
Guess I will have to sell some of my woodworking tools, RV 5th wheel, sail boat to pay for my new hobby, plus a large garage sale to clear the area.
Who said hobbies arn't a fun thing when you are retired!!!
