Guess I should have posted some of these as they were taken.

Oh well, when things get busy or otherwise distracting....

Mowing around the county's speed limit sign on my property last October(-ish). While it's not in the picture the western edge of the pasture's fence is right behind the mower. I generally have to back toward it and use the mower like it's an oversized string trimmer swinging it in from a side in order to mow between the sign and the fence ....which is how the sign gets between the mower and the rear wheel as shown in this photo:


Come November I rented an Kubota KX-040 excavator to dig out some tree stumps which is how I removed the oak stump (pictured with the 18 inch wide bucket) and a pair of Bradford pear tree stumps.

...and as handy as that piece of equipment turned out to be I may very well buy one in the future.

Then earlier this spring (after things had started drying out enough to drive on the lawn again) I was cleaning up the dead limbs that had fallen over the winter (my yard typically gets wet enough over the winter I don't walk on it since I'd sink into the clay) ...... and by the time I got to taking these two pictures I had pretty much finished and was just playing around picking up small pieces with the grapple just because I could




For perspective that's a 66 inch EA single lid wicked root grapple so the 3/8" steel construction should help show the size of twigs/branches I was picking up ... usually I pick up smaller stuff on the drive back to a larger work area in order to accumulate the small pieces into a larger grapple-filling pile, but here I was just enjoying being back on the tractor again

Thanks Xfaxman .... one of the reasons I originally started this thread was to help people who don't have a particular piece of equipment get an understanding of what sort of visibility they may have when operating it.

So it seems I may have just benefited from it myself as more and more I'm thinking a compact telehandler might be a nice compliment to my current tractor as I the issue I'm running into the most often is lift capacity when it comes to material handling .....and the most interaction I've had with telehandlers is when they're on a jobsite and I'm driving past.

My compact telehandler is rated to lift 4400 pounds, but it will lift a lot more than that.

Most guys don't realize just how compact it is:

The compact nature appeals to me --- what appeals even more is the amount of lifting capacity in such a small package. While I'm still a few years from buying one (if/when I get around to it), right now the New Holland LM5.25 seems to be fitting my "needs" the best. Though it'll be interesting to see how things change with compact telehandlers over the next few years as I suspect they are probably just a few years from gaining a lot more US market awareness/share, much like compact wheel loaders seem to be doing currently.
