Two days of laying. I think they move pretty fast.

This has been typical of the soil after heavy rains. Seems like this has been the pattern for months in Central Virginia.

Nothing better than watching capable construction tradesmen make progress on your own projects! Especially when you're able to help by working alongside them. Usually they don't even charge me extra when I do that. :)

I was at Road Atlanta for Vintage Racing and it was killing me not to be there with all the work taking place.
Two days of work after the Poles were set. Trusses set.

14' x 60' Room over garage. Attic Trusses. It is for storage only. In order to keep the County happy I had to keep the ceiling at 7'.
They are worried about space being converted to living space.

Thanks
Yes, they are going to frame out 2 passenger doors and 4 windows. 2 up 2 down. I had used translucent panels on other buildings for natural light, however since this will be my primary residence I will be around all the time.

My storage area over the garage. Metal is to arrive this week.

Looking down.
Kind of like a treehouse up there.

The roof and insulation went on today. They told me today they want to wait on the exterior walls until after they pour the slab. Steve said it makes it easier to keep the splatter down and better access.

Block work and piers will be completed this week. After county inspection, they hope to back fill and put on the deck/floor and start framing.

Looking good!

So what's going on with the brick? I have never seen brick stacked up before the block wall is complete. Normally they do the whole block wall, then come back and lay the brick in front.
