I stayed on them pretty hard to pull up the wire. I agree that it is hard to pull up the wire while standing on it. They did a pretty good job. The only saving grace was that they had a gravel base that went 4-10 inches. Then they went heavy on the concrete. Where my 2 post lift goes it was from 6-8" across the width of the lift plus some. (16')

I have had 5 large pads poured and this was the best surface finish by far. Now I can hope that Eddie is not 100% correct. Hard to argue with him based on his posts over the years.

NOW FOR YOUR VIEWING ENJOYMENT.
Sitting on the front and rear axles. I usually can walk my way out. Not this time. This site has been terrible, but the sun has shined and the rain has stayed away to finally dry. I felt like I could try to clear up the mess my land clearing contractor created.

The root rake acted as an anchor or parachute.

My new Ford could not move it when I tried to pull it out.

Called in the oldest son. His Suburban did a much better job.

Removing the root rack was a big help.

Root Rake was a $150 purchase. It is pretty beat, but that is what was going to happen to a new one.

Much better than trying to pick them out any other way.

He mentioned they would be installing chair lifts to hold the wire up. The other method is to manually pull the wire up into the concrete as you pour and before you screed. I personally hate the wire, too low or too high in the 'crete and constantly grabbing your boots.

I knew when I posted the picture I was going to take a hit, but good or bad I will show it.

Getting the house garage set. They use this wacker to compact the rock.

I was kind of surprised that it moved as easy as it did. The vibration made it want to go forward.
20" of gravel to bring the garage floor up to a level that will only require two steps going into the house.

I just read through this one, and the Pole Barn thread. All I can say is thank God I live in the South and don't have to deal with all that permit BS.

We have always considered Virginia part of the South. We are not building in what would be considered a rural county. The EPA, Chesapeake Water Act, Coastal Area Management Act, if you live near or affect water it seems like the government is going to have its say. I thought out West the Army Corp of Engineer was trying to make people remive dam private lakes and ponds, many of them existing, not really new. In our case, I think many of our issues were water related and living in an area with too many inspectors on the payroll. Others may disagree.

I thought Virginia was the south until I lived there. 2 things it snows there, and women have to open there own doors. LOL

I wouldn't even know where to get a permit for anything. Well I call the Sheriff for a burn permit, so that's kind of a pain in the butt. I've got to call give my address, and then I can burn.

Metal is installed. Still waiting on gutters, some missing trim items and windows that will be in next week.

My storage area.

Stairs are in.
