Amaroks are nice pickups but Hilux is still the king of the hill when the going gets thoug.

I run a '07 Hilux. V6 4L Petrol. Over 230,000kms on it so far. Bullet proof... but, then again, there's no salt/slurry on our roads to rust them away. Just the intense UV rays to contend with.
No worries hauling a 5x4 round of hay or an implement in the back, or towing a horse float. It's done everything I've ever needed it to do.
There are 'full size' N.A. pick-ups available here, at astronomical prices! (A$85k - A$100k) They're used for specialist uses or for people with deep pockets who 'just want one'. It's the import duties and RHD conversion that jacks the price up here.
I believe that, in N.A., the reason that they're unavailable is due to something called the "Chicken Tax".![]()

Same here in Canada Wagtail. You can get a loaded HD pickup in the States for $56,000 and they are 80 to 90 here for the same thing.
Even the half tons. A Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn is over $80,000 where I am.
Yes, but it was the hunting of parked old pickups just collecting dust in the dessert.
