I have been driving for 57 years and ran out of fuel once. I wanted to see how far down the gauge "empty" actually was. I had 5 gallons of fuel in the trunk for my "test". So, except for doing it on purpose...never ran out of gas.

It is such a silly thing to worry about, or have happen with gas stations plentiful. I am sure as hell not carrying around jug of gas constantly.

If an EV driver is dumb enough to run out of juice it says a lot about them. Again a non-issue in my opinion. That is not an EV problem that is a people problem. If you are dumb enough to buy an EV where chargers are not available, or too lazy to plug your EV in for the next day of use, do not blame the technology. You cannot fix stupid.

I did not feel sorry for those people in Chicago who "made the news'.

How many times per year is the Lincoln Tunnel or other highways blocked by people who run out of gas? It doesn't matter what you are driving, if you can't plan that far ahead then you are the problem, not what you are driving.
The first electric F150s included an adapter so that they could charge a Tesla if needed... a rather interesting gimmick.

There’s a lot of stupid people out there….
You keep getting hung up on that.
Also, traffic jams happen and people leave home thinking they have plenty of gas, then theres an accident head and a 3 hour backup ensues.
Much easier to resolve an ICE out of gas than a dead EV

Had to replace the sending unit.

Apparantly damaged when someone syphoned gas out of the work van.

Thieves don’t syphon anymore… they just poke a hole through the bottom and fill the jug.

$1000 repair for a few gallons of gas plus out of service truck???

Wow. Just when you couldn’t imaging things getting worse in this country. Fuel prices being high are making gas more attractive to steal.
