I have been driving for 57 years and ran out of fuel once. I wanted to see how far down the gauge "empty" actually was. I had 5 gallons of fuel in the trunk for my "test". So, except for doing it on purpose...never ran out of gas.
It is such a silly thing to worry about, or have happen with gas stations plentiful. I am sure as hell not carrying around jug of gas constantly.
If an EV driver is dumb enough to run out of juice it says a lot about them. Again a non-issue in my opinion. That is not an EV problem that is a people problem. If you are dumb enough to buy an EV where chargers are not available, or too lazy to plug your EV in for the next day of use, do not blame the technology. You cannot fix stupid.
I did not feel sorry for those people in Chicago who "made the news'.
