Hi Bill, thanks for the shots they answered a lot of questions on the 4in1 bucket for me. Great job.
I have a few questions I'm hoping you can help me with:

1. Does the wear bar have to be removed to install tooth bar?
2. Could you have teeth added to wear bar to make it sort of a combo, wear bar/tooth bar?
3. How heavy each was the bucket, tooth bar and wear bar?
4. What is the lift capacity or your loader with OEM bucket?
5. Was the bucket order long in coming?
6. Was the solenoid button switch included with valve kit?

Thanks again Bill for the pics. As the say, pictures are worth more then a thousand words.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the pics. They were more of a hit than I expected. I realized a may have missed an important one--the electric solenoid button on the FEL stick.
So, here is one more.
To the questions raised by Harv,George (Keoke), and Thomas:
Yes, you do give up some lifting capacity due to the bucket weight difference. I considered this before final commitment. However for me, I do less full-bucket earth hauling than just scratching around...wood, brush, light landscaping materials, nudging, pushing, etc. Also, my loader lift capacity is 880 lbs at FULL LIFT HEIGHT. I found out by using my B7100 and Loader combo that I rarely have a need to lift to full height...and don't like to, either. The LA402 has lift capacities of 1000lbs and more at positions other than full.
My original Kubota bucket is spec'd at 180 lbs weight. The HJ2-60" is 330 lbs. The wear blade is 68 lbs. The tooth bar is 60 lbs. So the combo puts you at right around 400 lbs. Therefore, according to specs, I give up about 220 lbs of payload. Again, for my uses, I'll opt for the utility vs the max capacity. Some other answers.

The dealer installed it, but I had to redo some of the plumbing to get the open/close action right. Long's told me it comes with full installation documentation, but I didn't see it, and my dealer must have kept it. By looking at it, I think I could have done the installation, and made it a bit neater as well...and I am an average (only) backyard mechanic.

The wear blade and tooth bar are installed one-or-the-other, or none. Two bolts hold them in position. I think they show in some of the bucket pics.

Given above, don't know if you could make a combo wear/tooth bar...Long could probably answer better.

Delivery from time of order was 2 weeks...they are made to order for your specific loader.

The electric solenoid comes with button, new handle grip, clamps...everything needed to install.

Harv: I don't know how the lift specs account for the bucket weight...a good question. I have assumed it does since the references are at various points on the bucket.

Finally, cost info:

HJ2-60" $1260
Electric solenoid kit $375
Wear blade $165
Tooth Bar $246

Shipping charge to MIchigan was $100
And there was Michigan tax.

Installation was zero as these are the suggested list prices and my dealer gave no additional charge. You may be able to negotiate pricing with your dealer. I don't think they sell direct.

This is a bit long...but I hope I answered most of the questons.

Hi Bill, thanks for the quick reply to my questions on the 4in1 bucket. I have a JD 970 and I think the loader specs at full height is 1000#s. This is with the OEM 73 inch bucket already included. Since the weight difference between the 60" and 64" is onlly 23#s I may as well have them order the 64". bucket. From the pic it looks like the wear bar probably adds a little more capacity to your bucket. Is this correct?
The 970 JD comes stock with the two stage SCV valve on dump that you mentioned. It took me two years find this out. Only when I started looking at 4in1 buckets did it matter.

thanks again,
george

Glad I could help. Yes, the wear bar adds about a 4 inch extension to the front edge of the bucket.
I hope to get some "action shots" if winter ever leaves this place. Good luck with your planned acquisition.

Thanks, Bill --

You answwered all of my questions and then some. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

The wish list for my tractor has gotten so long, I'm not sure where to put the 4-in-1. As long as I'm just wishin', I think I'll opt for a second loader with the 4-in-1 attached. Then if I run out of lift capacity I can just switch back to the conventional bucket. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Keep those great pictures coming.

Bill,

Any rough idea on opening/closing times? For the bucket to fully open from the closed position, and close from the fully open position... in seconds? Doesn't have to be exact, just a general idea...

Muhammad,
Well, I have not clocked it, and have not really had a chance to put it to serious work yet, but in fooling around it seems like the open/close cycles about the same as roll-back/dump. In other words, a few seconds. If I get a chance in the next day or two, I'll warm it up and clock it. I think that would be good information to add to the data bank.

Harv,
Your "wish-list" second loader idea reminded me of one other point I forgot to make. I still have my original bucket! If I ever get into a situation where I just need to move heavy bulk material, it would not be a major chore to switch out the buckets. Especially so if I added a couple of quick-connects to the plumbing.

By the way, I really enjoy the digital camera so I will probably keep fooling around with it. Hope I don't get too boring. As spring approaches here in lower Michigan the deer are beginning to move around more. I shot some (with the camera) in the yard between trips to take the tractor photos. Groups in both the front and back of the house. I'll post tonight when I get home.
