10 miles away I would not expect 10-15 minute response time. They'd have to average 60MPH to make 10 miles in 10 minutes. That means they'd have to be doing 80ish with stops, slow-downs, etc... plus it takes them a minute or two to get from call initiation to ambulance leaving the doors. 20 minutes would be a good time to expect at 10 miles away.

That's one of the reasons when we call an ambulance in this area, the fire department and/or cops show up first. They are almost always closer, and trained as first responders. Works really well here.

Yep. I could do that. Or, I could just remove it with my magical moderator powers. Or, I could leave it just to annoy folks, which seems to be working quite well. ;)

I agree. I think I would get very good response times.

Well, just got off the phone with someone at the Sheriff's office. They told me to read the ordinance and I had to decide if it was "essential". This is getting really stupid.

I can drive to McD's to get a Big Mac...totally unessential, but doing a bit of work on a tractor is subject to interpretation. I suppose even driving to the local elk viewing spot, sitting in our truck and having a picnic lunch is deemed "unessential". It is $1000 fine per person.

I am not suggesting stuff like what happened on the Florida beaches is acceptable but we have swung too far to other extreme.

Presently in Mississippi there seems to be no "shelter in place" official enforceable rule. And people keep on getting infected and then spreading the virus.
Yes it is getting stupid.
But like the title of this thread we can try and wait it out like a storm that is not causing property damage. Or just keep passing it around and infecting others.
If "they" had mandated AND provided PPE (masks, gloves) the "storm" would have a lot less impact and thousands may not have died.
But we still have people who are young and immortal who don't mind getting sick for a day or two and partying on, meanwhile passing the virus on to the unsuspecting who may get sick and die.
/edit - it's like a no littering law, but then some people think littering is ok

It's been a blessing been at home with my wife for these last three weeks.
We have caught up on everything I have done wrong in the last fifteen years.

You bet. It is kind of nice to slow down, put the brakes on and chill and bring some of that lost passion and romance back. Good for you.

Go forth (or fifth) and Prosper!

Stimulate your local economy.

Nonconformists in the current situation not only put themselves at risk but they put others at risk...if only one person gets sick from not following the rules it taxes the entire system and every other citizen...

Be smart and follow the guidelines...

Unless you go to church... Please explain that one to me... Seriously, how does this help?

I have never used it. The only bad thing I've heard is some privacy issues. I think it would depend on how concerned you would be if someone other than your family somehow saw the video.

You could really use a dictionary...!

non·con·form·ist
/ˌnänkənˈfôrməst/
noun
plural noun: nonconformists

1.
a person whose behavior or views do not conform to prevailing ideas or practices.

Pretty much, from what I understand the way that you connect is via a code which is sequential and can be guessed, there is no secondary code that you have put in like there is with some of the other platforms such as gotomeeting.

Only a moron would go to church at this time. Being a Christian does not make someone smart or bulletproof. We attended our church service on Roku. I have met plenty of dumb Christians...but we are not of us are all dumb.

The dumb ones make the news. Many Christians do not believe in Darwin’s theory...but still quality for the Darwin Award.
