Like most, rocks and stumps. I have a nice little crease on the top of my 6’ hog from rolling a big rock around under there with too hard a shear pin. I now use the cheap bolts from Lowe’s. Like someone else stated, have a natural instinct/reaction to mash the clutch and raise the 3PH in one motion at the slightest loud noise.
Had a delayed sound - didn’t make a sound when I did it, but, heard it later…..
Past weekend I was hogging around the pond in our community. Have to go down a neighbor’s road to get to it. Last summer I would cut along the neighbor’s road and around his garden on my return trips back from the pond – he and his wife are great neighbors and I like to help them out. Past winter I knocked down and spread out a huge dirt pile that was on our property lines – mostly his side.
Anyway, I am coming back from hogging at the pond past weekend and notice the grass is high around the garden and along the road. Dropped the mower, circled the garden and other side of the road. Noticed where I had leveled out the mound of dirt there were a lot of weeds and these two big bushy weeds growing, looked like poke berry bushes. Turned up the hill and went right down the middle, taking out the weeds and two bushes. Did such a good job and looked so clean I decided to hog the whole hill – clean it up right.
That evening I am down at the pond fishing. Neighbor comes walking down. I figure it’s to talk about the fishing or thank me for cutting the weeds back. Nope. Turned out the bushes I cleaned out were two Butterlfy bushes he special ordered and had spent the day before planting. The other “weeds” were wild flowers he had sowed a while back – the same kind he put around the garden. Thankfully he was laughing about it – but I felt like, well, you know...... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
