Hi FatTire, I use my chipper about 4 or 5 times every 6 months. Here, in Texas, we have lots of shrub growth, I knock it down regularly, then chip it. I can attach my well greased chipper in about 5 minutes, so it's never an issue for me. Some have said the attachment process is difficult and time consuming, but with good grease it's a snap.
My neighbors use a 'professional' chipping company, and they charge a $1,000 bucks a day. Now, they have a monster chipper, and a crew of about 5, and they clear a hillside quickly, BUT, even though I'm smaller and slower, I think the purchase of one will pay for itself in a few years. I really enjoy mine, and recommend it.
