Walmart Supertech oil

Super Tech comes from various sources depending on the specific grade and regions of the country.


SUPER TECH 5W30 -- EXXON MOBIL

5W-30 Super Tech full Synthetic comes from Speciality Oil/Pennzoil/Quarker State.

But that does not mean its the very same oil that those brands sell, no one knows.

In our area, we get the Warren stuff. Look on the bottom of the bottle. If it has a "WPP" logo on it, the oil is from "Warren Performance Packaging". They actually blend and bottle the oil.

It's good oil. Someone here said that it's recycled oil.
Man, that is such B.S.

Their gas engine oil meets SL/SM. Walmart is a low bid company. In any given month/year, they might switch from Warren to Quaker State to Chevron etc........
There's no rhyme or reason to it.

As long as the oil meets SL/SM ratings, that's all you need to worry about.

My 1981 Toyota Tercel ran 322,000 miles on "SF" rated dino oil changed @ 4k-5K intervals. No oil analysis. Nothing.
Now, people wouldn't even put an "SF" oil in their lawnmower.
Back in the 80's, it was considered top shelf stuff, though.

People actualy loose sleep over a few PPM of this and a few PPM of that in thier crankcase oil......Amazing.

I always recommend SuperTech oil to my mother-in-law........helps keep her at the repair shop so she cannot come over to visit!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's odd...I use Supertech 5w-30 in my mother-in-law's Taurus and she hasn't missed a trip yet.

What am I doing wrong?
