10-4 on that, that SuperTech will kill just about anything that moves! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There is no way that an SL/SM rated oil can be "junk". The standard is very high. Some older engines ran half a million miles on "SF" rated oil in the 80's.

I would prefer Supertech oil to Rotella when using low quality oils. Both are cheap but will do the job if changed regularly.

If you only put 3000 miles on the oil b-4 changes it maybe ok. I guess I tried to push it's limits at 4000 miles had oil test done & the results of the oil test showed the oil trashed or junk at that mileage. These were my results only . You may have different results.

Okay, I fudged a bit trying to make Rotella appear a better value than it is. For the price in a CI-4 rated oil, I would highly recommend the ole Walmart Supertech to Rotella. There; better?! No more sugar coating what Rotella is. Blackstone, NTS, and Herguth labs have shown that Rotella is about on par with the Supertech for a bargain priced oil. Therefore, since Supertech is even cheaper (since that would be the objective if going with these oils) it would be the clear winner. As I said earlier, and lab test results confirm, frequent changes of either of these oils will do most people just fine.

I agree Dargo.

Rotella is a good oil but supertech will and can do the samething, and cheaper.

Blackstone Labs and the rest of them need to speak to 1/2 the over the road drivers ...putting millions of miles on their rigs YEARLY...before they call "Rotella" "low quality oil". SuperTech better??..maybe...I dont know...but Rotella IS NOT a "low quaity oil"..and some $30 a shot testing lab will never convince me that it is.
