Yeah I don't think they are expecting you to be doing a lot of backing with the ripper in the ground but that's not uncommon among equipment that uses them.
In any case I used that image to show one correctly installed with the wear surface on top vs on the under side of the ripper in the linked thread.
Wouldn't want the op to go to the trouble and put them on upside down like this.
