Yeah I don't think they are expecting you to be doing a lot of backing with the ripper in the ground but that's not uncommon among equipment that uses them.

In any case I used that image to show one correctly installed with the wear surface on top vs on the under side of the ripper in the linked thread.

Wouldn't want the op to go to the trouble and put them on upside down like this.

I had problems immediately with my landpride gs2584 broke two teeth in less than 20 minutes steel was to hard and snapped right off. I've never had a problem with the h&l teeth gannon uses on my much heavier hydraulic box blade. I ordered factory gannon replacement teeth from messicks And have not had an issue. The shoe on the h&l is actually smaller than the stock landpride but ive never had a problem with my 1350lb gannon box scraper ripping through hard clay road bed

The ground contact strip, 1/4" thick, snaps off. This on complete replacement tine/shoe/point assembly from Agri Supply.

I had to replace assembly when 1 of 5 originals was lost in the woods because I neglected to check the attaching bolt(s) for tightness.

The four Bush Hog (brand) OEM rippers are holding up fine.

No problem but jeff9366 recomended the bush hog brand. I'm not sure if they are H&L but are definitely at a cheaper price could be the same and Gannon just has a higher markup
