I had that happen too. Special order window. They called and said it was in . I told then 9 am the next day Id be there. I arrive and the window was supposed to be in the contractor checkout end.I looked around, and didn't see it there, and waited in line, (maybe 8 minutes).
Then was told that it wouldn't be there ,it would be ion special services.
So I went to that end of the store, and waited. (about 5 minutes)
Handed the paperwork to the clerk and said that it was 'set' aside for my 9 am pickup.
They looked around near and under the desk. This window is 3.5 feet by 5.0 feet.
She said she had found it behind the office. So i said Id go get a cart, and she replied that they have someone there to take it right out to my truck. so I waited. and a guy arrived and pulled it out to the desk.Said yep this is the one.
She checked the paperwork again and he said 'you might want to get a cart'
I went and got one as he stood there, He did lift one end onto it.Then He said Have a good day.
I wheeled it out , but got stopped again only a few feet, and was told that I would have to go to to a 'standard' checkout, not through the self serve. I told them I 'owned' it already thanks and proceeded out the door. (receipts on top of it.).
Two people came and stopped me. and then said they were sorry, I went to the lot, where a customer asked if I wanted assistance. I said I'm all set but thanks.
He replied , because they sure don't want to help.
HOWEVER.. on another visit I was very pleased with the service. More than enough help.
I think it comes and goes, and once you get in the rut. it just keeps getting worse.But next time they say can I see you slip, Ill just reply. I am a former CEO and its free for me.LOL
The attitude of the workers is when makes a company, and when the CEO gets a payoff like that , and employees ares struggling, I am sure it hard to put on a good happy hat.
