You need a bigger separation between the power and data line, running it close and parallel to power will cause interference.

Nice. I'm very jealous of your easy to dig soil! I almost trenched a data line to my garage today, but decided against it because I thought I'd damage too much lawn with the soil frozen. How did it do getting through the frozen layer?
