I bought a brand new one 1970 Malibu, in LR and it was 250hp-350/350hydra, best new car I ever bought...
deerefan,
I read the whole thread and nobody mentions intake gaskets specifically as a leak spot.
So I will they can and do leak internally at the corners and not leak to the outside fact some manifolds corrode out and let go especially factory aluminum manifolds very often overlooked. hth
It does. My cam is smallish, 272 duration, .427/.442 lift. It has small valve 1.94/1.50 iron heads shaved .015, an edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 600cfm carb and stock hei ignition. The block is bored .060 and has 4 valve relief pistons. I have a 1500 stall, turbo350 & 4.11 gears. I need to tune it and set the timing again.
As for the Roadrunner with Cummins power, I hate seeing a nice classic hacked up to sell magazines.
???? I mentioned them in my very first sentence in post number 17.
I agree with Ryan03 and Car Doc...there's a chance the leak is at the coolant crossover between the heads and intake manifold.
jonyyuma said:I guess I was lucky with my 73 357 engine, I used the best gaskets I could find and a edelbrock manifold. It had the heads cut .020...block not cut..IMHO,,,.I would start it and look for leak inside the radiator, you should see air bubbles, or if fancy there is a analizer guage for it too. Then, definitely change the oil and oil filter..if there is an accumulation in area of dipstick?
