If I had the B77 I would leave it mounted to the tractor like a BX does, all folded up nice and neat, use it as a 1,000 lb ballast instead of an 1800 lb large crane.

My only concern, will the stabilizers lift the tractor and the two loaded monster tires off the ground.
How can I find out how much weight the stabilizers will lift?
I would also make a hydraulic thumb mod for it.

If you know size of hydraulic cylinder ( diameter) I can give u a good idea.

I could use that Zippo to record my tractor frustration Waxman.

THIS POS!

Kudos to your attention to detail. If you do keep your machine do the turbo thingy you won't be disappointed.

Wow you ARE the master I just can't believe the things you have made.

Fred, good thread no matter what decision you make.

Wow that's cool! Did you make it?!

Yes sir, 5 total, sold three on ebay to tape recorder collectors in Japan, Netherlands, and Germany last one sold for 362.00 others were slightly less but all well over 300.00 Starting bid each time was 5.00 it was fun to watch People from all over the world biding on them .
The one you see went to Germany years ago the guy was writing a book on tape recorders.
sold one to a friend. And I have one.

I was in the Mall about 10 years ago and I was talking to the News Stand guy next to his Zippo Lighter display case. Hows business sell many etc.etc. I was checking out the different lighters because my recorder will fit in any slim zippo case.

I pulled mine out of my pocket slid up the case as you see it in my hand asked if he ever seen one like this? the guy turned white as a ghost. Guess he thought I was investigating something. He asked as I was leaving if I was with the FBI. I said No, not FBI, and walked away trying not to laugh.
Like they would use something so primitive today.

The recorder is loaded with tape and the reels turn. I'll bet you didn't expect that long of an answer.:D But yes it did make it.
I had a lot of fun with them. You can give it to someone and they hold it their hand and still believe its real. Course you tell them its vintage early 60's.
Ahh, you got to be a tape recorder collector to appreciate it.

Ahhh, Waxman is a fellow analog aficionado. While mine arent as small, but at 15ips the fidelity is certainly there.

Sweet collection Waxman

Collection! that was only one shelf:D my 15ips Nagras were below on the next three shelfs.

Nice youtube TexasBoy, I didn't know your youtube video was in the reply until I copied the quote and it said a youtube address, I said what the heck is this, Nice surprise, Oh man that's some Nice Pioneer equipment.

^^^Im seriously impressed!

Thank you sir,

If you know size of hydraulic cylinder ( diameter) I can give u a good idea.

I'll get that infor for you,
You must be a mathematician:)

Thank you very much Fred,
I'd like to have you put a turbo on mine, you are the turbo master, after the fine quality job you did on yours.

You're the only one I'd let work on my tractor.

Ok last post, I'll leave you guys alone for a while. You must be sick of me by now.

A parting shot of WaxMan's infamous tiny tires all cleaned up and going back tomorrow.
A Big Thank You to Josh Ahearn of Ahearn Equipment Spencer Mass. 18 months after the sale and still willing to help.
Thank you Sir

That's a gorgeous tractor! Now I want a cabbed L40! I still like the small tires too. Makes it a very interesting machine.

Thanks for details on the zippo. Nicely done!

You're welcome on the calcs... I do it everyday! (0;

Waxman,

You are saying that you would leave the hoe on the tractor, does that mean you don't use 3-point attachments, or would you remove the hoe and then put it back on the tractor for storage/ballast?

The BH77 on my B3350 adds just over 6 1/2 feet to the length of the tractor (measured from the aftmost point which is the rear of the tire). When Folded at 90 degrees to the tractor (which I normally only have done when trailering), the hoe adds 3 1/2 feet. Obviously the hoe detracts a fair amount from the tractor's maneuverability, significantly, as I operate on quite uneven terrain at times, from the departure angle at the rear. Not saying it wouldn't work for you, as I would never profess to know what's best for you (subliminal message - stay away from quicksand), but I know I wouldn't want my hoe to live on the tractor.

Disclaimer: my hoe is on the tractor in my garage, and will be for a few weeks, as I'm doing some construction. Mostly it's stored on it's dolly so I can use other attachments. In the winter I use a ballast box and front mount snowblower. Hoe would be great ballast 'cept it'd make it almost impossible to maneuver when blowing driveways and tighter areas.

Wow 6 1/2 ft still a lot better then mine.
I have a 5 ft rake but since I bought this tractor I have never once put the three point on as of yet. I usually have my backhoe mounted all the time except for the winter. Its off right now only because I cleaned the tractor a couple of weekends ago for a photo shoot for the magazine Playtractor :D. But when its on the tractor its too big. It takes up the whole bay in the garage front bucket to hoe bucket about 25 ft long.
Right now the tractor is in one bay the hoe on dolly in the other.

That is one thing I liked about the deere the front bucket is right in front of the tractor, Look how far ahead the bucket is in the above picture. The Deere is right in front of the hood.

Sorry Kubota guys, but I think this looks nice, short bucket right in front of the hood. Its a compact verses the long tractor I have below. So at least with the smaller hoe it will be more like the deere in the back.

...and I appreciate your reply on the gages and how you mounted them. To that end, I went to Flea Bay and ordered a transmission temperature gage, oil pressure gage pyrometer and boost gage for my M9 and another set for my 105X. My tractors sleep all winter so I'll be adding the gages then. When they are done, I'll be sure to post some pictures on this thread. My cabs aren't as nice as yours nor are my tractors as clean, they are working farm tractors with the usual scratches and marks that come from field work.

Thanks again for your reply to my PM. It's nice to have someone take the time for that today.

Waxman,

Okay, so the JD has a close in bucket . . . BUT . . . that also translates to shorter FEL arms and lower lift height. If you are trying load into a high sided trailer, or reach in and compact a load of sagebrush (which you probably don't have . . . so make it some other kind of brush), then having longer loader arms are nice to have. Same with a longer hoe, it's not just that you can dig deeper, it's also that you don't have to move the tractor so often and you can move it further each time when digging a ditch.

Of course, if small er size and maneuverablility has primacy, then a smaller tractor, FEL, and HOE might be better suited. My B3350 was a step up from my previous tractors . . . I only have 2.5 acres and snow removal to deal with, so really don't need anything bigger.

Just remember, if you go too small, you can't get the babe in the bucket.
