Pics might take time, but tried cable welded on the ends, and yes it did frey under heavy load. Thing I didn't notice till today is before they did I not only trimmed along the shed, but also through it in a few places. Now it's an inch lower. Chain..possible but wouldn't it wind around the spindle when it starts? Square shaft might be to harsh if it hits something solid, plastic breaks too easy if in hard weeds, so I'm back to trying a plastic surrounded cable for rigitivity when starting and a welded end to prevent freying. Still have other problems with the Eater, (as I call it), like harsh recoil of the arm when deflecting off t-post, and the loss of hyd. to the motor when pulling or pushing the arm around bushes or small trees(also extendable). Think this can be overcome in time with everyones knowledge. Appreciate the support.

Get just the right length of chain-saw chain with the teeth pointing the right way and let'er rip. I had that setup on my "string" trimmer and I worked great.
Of course I never had a link fly off and inbed itself in my foot or ankle. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

He..he.., What can I say about that? I already let'r rip and you should see the damage. Think of what other damage I could do around the place with a chain saw blade attached. Doesn't paint a pretty picture, but still might be worth trying. Anyone else have any of these minor problems? I Think Not, but like to hear about them.

I like the heavy square line.Wife has one of them chain heads on her old trimmer and I won't even gas it up!!! Hey ya'll...watch this.Might as well run around with scissors and play chicken with trains...
Ever wonder why the pros all have big spools of line hanging on the sides of their trailers?
