Man, that looks great. Oh well - I might have my weed wiper this week. I can't wait - would like to get it done on Friday or Sat. I have Johnson grass 4' tall.

It's probably too late in the season to do anything about it now. It needs to be actively growing for most weed killers to work at all. I'd just mow it and wait till spring. I believe johnson grass comes back from seed.

Johnson grass spreads by seed and from the roots, that's why just mowing doesn't kill it. In fact it can help it spread. You really need to use a pre-emergent to take care of the seeds and something to kill the mature growing plants. A weed wiper and roundup works good or spraying MSMA will kill it without hurting your forage grasses, depending on what kind you have. Be careful though. Check the label before using.
