maybe this topic has been answered but i will ask anyway. which is heavier- a weight box filled with sand or one filled with concrete, and is the difference substantial? i have jd2210 w weight box and am thinking of digging out my sand and replacing it w concrete for the extra weight.
also, any disadvantages to permanently filling the box w concrete?

A cubic foot of Sand weighs 100 lbs.
A cubic foot of Concrete weighs 120 lbs.
You should gain about 100 lbs by filling box with concrete.
I am not sure about a JD2210.
However, a Kubota BX2300 is limited to 350 lbs in its weight box.
When I changed from a JD to Kubota weight box they both held the same amount of material. I noticed a difference when I filled the box with contcrete. Lifting heavy loads were better balanced. It also created a good place to store items in top of weight box. I do not lose clips in the sand. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
