Thought I would put this up. Poor mans welding cart. Nothing really original about the design. Its tall (because I plan to put a TIG on the second shelf someday). I won't paint it until this summer. I need to live with it a bit. Already I am changing out the front wheels to a Trailer steering system because I don't have concrete, just dirt. When / If I get concrete I will go back to these front caster wheels.

Looks good, I like it!

Very nice cart...

Personally, I wouldn't want to lift/lower gas bottles, and would modify the bottle holder, but it is very clean and secure. Excellent workmanship.

Nothing poor about it. And the cylinders are captured very well. From the looks of it, it sandwiches the cylinders and is bolted together?

Very nice. I have one similar. Keeps it clean. Well done.

I missed that detail, upon closer look, it does seem to be two halves bolted together, not a solid plate with a circle cut in, as I originally thought. I retract my earlier comments about lifting/mods/etc.

Again, excellent work.

I would really like to see pictures of this. I've got plenty of dirt to transverse.

Per Shade Trees request. An update on my welding cart. It is big but stable. Probably too big. I have a confined storage area and this is going to take up a ton of the room. The thing pulls great across uneven terrain but it is heavy. I worry about being top heavy but I don't think it is although I wouldn't take it on any serious slopes.

Got a scare of a lifetime... Which will be another question posed. I took my mig off my old wedling cart, and somehow the bottle of 75 fell over. It broke a stem on the guage, but truly I was filling my shorts as it went over (I had the lincloln in my hands, nothing I could do). The cart and one of the reasons I hated it used a bad chain design to to hold the tanks.

That is supper. I really like it. Since my "tree" only has dirt (and the roof leaks) I have to move all my stuff in and out.

Thank you for posting the pictures. Sorry about your tank and shorts.

Shade tree. If I were to do this again I would probably make this a wagon. On concrete this is a great space saving cart but on dirt it is just a bit too high.

Okay - I've been outside in the sun. For the rear end of your cart... get some square tube that slide inside each other. On the smaller cap the end so you can screw your bolt (holding the wheel on) into it. On the dirt slide your wheels wide - in storage push them in tight.

 going back out in the sun in just a bit. Maybe I'll find another wild idea?

I hate you from a great distance. Just got back inside and am penciling your idea

Looking at what you've done with the rest of your cart I expect you to turn (that idea) into a thing of beauty.
