Well guys are here this morning finishing up the connection to the house. The well guy said Saturday it could take up to 24hrs for the water to stablize but I was getting 9gpm. This morning the guy said "we had 50'". me not knowing my butt from a whole in the ground immediately felt my face go flush in panic!! The old well was 30'!!!!! Then he said No,no....... It is 50' from the top which is 290' of water!!!!! Wow talk about a heart attack! The old one was 30' from the bottom as in running out!!!!

So does this change the estimate of 9gpm on Saturday? I am going to ask them before they leave but just thought I would post here first.

Thanks all!!!! I CAN FLUSH TODAY!!!!!!!!

Probably 300' from the old one. The location we were kind of limited to one area. He did not want to be close to the old well and he needed to be away from the septic. We have had almost 5" of rain in the last 2 weeks so he could not get his drilling rig and water truck in the back yard. So that only gave him 1/4 of my yard to decide on. Then he needed to keep from getting the truck on my concrete pad so that limited the space as well. Other than that I really don't know if it was anything more than finding the safest and most convienient spot. But I could be wrong.

These guys have been great. A lot better than the one I had last week that charged me $125 to do NOTHING. These guys do not try and talk over my head or sale me anything extra. They will not add anything without us talking to the owner first and him quoting the price and then letting his guys know.

good going on the new well. that must be a big relief.

i think if they say it's making 9gpm, then that is what the well produces. your available storage will
give you more that 9gpm available to use, but only until the well level drops down below usable level.
i think you will be hard pressed to exhaust that well!
and if the old well can sustain the barn, then you actually have a great setup there,
with each building on it's own well! just have to maintain 2 pumps/tanks/switches etc.

good luck with the new water!

I recomend having both systems hooked up with shut off valves, then if one goes down you can switch to the other. It seems that problems always happen on the weekend or evening, when you cant get parts.
