Well trouble

/ Well trouble #21
Doug,

The website I supplied is where all the drillers put in their well data. Even the hand submitted logs make it onto there eventually. I used to be in the business. Some drillers are very uncomfortable with their info being so public but it sure makes it handy.

Are you in the business?

I am now retired and no longer in the business. I worked for TWDB for many years before breaking off on my own. I have been more than a little frustrated trying to find information via the TWDB home page. The web site you provided did yield a map showing wells that have established State Well Numbers. While this was helpful, there ain't no way the grid I looked at had all drillers logs located. Now, having said that, I will go back to that page and look at it some more. It would be great if all well logs were available.

Goose, I stand corrected. There is data pertaining to recently drilled wells although I have not found much information beyond Lat, Long and the well owners name. I confess that I am still exploring the site and may eventually find more information. From what I've seen, there is little for the contractor submitting a report to worry about. Again, I thank you for the information.

You can get the soil layers, depths, etc. Casing size, pump setting, etc. You have to look at the individual well logs.
