Do you mean it was not an option to get the $1000 off, or not an option to pay it off a few days later?

When I bought you had to finance with Ford to get the additional rebate. There was no clause as to early payoff. So it was an option to get the $1000 off and it was up to customer whether or not to payoff early.

Ford plugged that loophole, now requiring a longer term, on 2011 models.
