West Coast Smoke, UGH!

But nobody wants to pay for that so here we are. Not to mention the century long effort to suppress each and every fire, that's helped pile up the fuel. Started a 100 years ago so you can't really blame it on all the tree huggers/greenies/snowflakes and other nouns that 5030 could come up with.

It’d help if they didn’t sue to lock up the timber sales and salvage of the burnt timber. Take the Eagle Creek fire in the Columbia River gorge it has been locked up for salvage logging instead of removing the problem it just adds to it. To the roads we put them in to log an area and depending on who you’re working for you’re told to remove the roads or access when done or possibly remove the existing roads period.

Still 24 major fires in California... 28 days of bad air and counting... folks driving with headlights during the day is SOP.

One chart showed Seattle, Portland, San Francisco all in the top 5 for worst air worldwide.

President to visit tomorrow...

Not all fires from lightning... In laws of neighbor saw power line arcing and then fire...

One Day at a time...

Buddy in Portland couldn稚 see across the street yesterday and can not leave his house. And the riots, and the homelessness, and the climate, and the economy.

I read Portland is the fastest growing metro area in the USA.

I think the magnetic field has finally shifted.

28 days and counting...... being cooped up here, seems like months. WAAA--- it HAS been months!! Wonder why the dense smoke can't just wipe out the virus.

Discussion here: Opinion: Don't Log Burned Forests—Let Nature Heal Them

As with most things, the best answer is probably somewhere in between.

The comments about saving the planet, I think, should be amended to say, save the planet for ourselves.

The planet will be fine and it changes every day. Some days more than others.

Mother Nature couldn’t care less, she simply reacts to reality, no opinions, no politics, no religion, no BS, she just reacts.

Until the sun runs outta gas, the planet will be fine, maybe just not inhabitable by **** sapiens but in the end, Mother Nature don’t care! This is where faith comes in. Mark Twain said, faith is when you believe in something you know is not true.

I’ve said it before, Mother Nature is a good dresser but, she’s vicious, no second chances.

If I write a book the title will be, Mother Nature is Scotch Irish! If that doesn’t make sense, this is how it goes, in a Scotch Irish household.

Grandma, I broke my arm!

Youll get over it.

But grandma it hurts so bad, whine whine

Quit whining, You're lucky you didn’t break both your arms!

Oh My God!!!! The nerve of you to suggest that!!!! ;)
Yeah, common sense, right? Then someone chimes in and says cant do that....it leads to erosion!
So long before the 49ers killed off all the native inhabitants and stole their lands (Still have 49ers on those football helmets, though dont we) forest fires burned all the forest kindling wood off the ground. Then in a brief display of common sense, the state did controlled burns and cleaned up wood fuel to save the structures that were built.
Then they stopped, citing the wood piles and fuel on the ground were habitats for little critters.
Now they have massive forest fires destroying the structures.

Hmmmm....little critters lives or peoples lives? Only a fool values a small percentage of rodents over innocent human life. Little critters lives matter

Sounds more realistic than “ Mother Earth is mad at us “. :confused3:

Even when the air clears out, people will find out their homes smell of smoke. It will be a boon for the cleaning businesses.
