Guilty, poor choice of words. I'd run that Mahindra loaner like a rented Kioti... QUOTE]

Well at least you picked a tough tractor!

It really shouldn't be the OP's problem if Mahindra uses a bankrupt shipping company. Mahindra ought to be in the know about every link of their supply chain. There should be no "surprise" bankruptcies in their chain. In today's world, anything less is to open yourself up to competitive invasion.

From what I've read throughout this thread I would get the impression that Mahindra doesn't have an efficient supply chain. Regardless of whether or not they use Hanjin, 30-40 days is an extremely long time to "air freight" something around the world. And I'm not speaking from an ignorant stance; working in the logistics world for as long as I have has shown me that almost anything can make it around the world in 4 days max. 1 day for transport to an airport, 2 days for flight & transfers, and 1 more day for transport to destination. The only unknown in that process is going to be customs. However, a company with a solid logistics chain is going to communicate any customs holdup to the dealer/customer, NOT tell them that the part will arrive in 30-40 days.
Oh, I kinda thought everybody knew they were assembling the part from scratch.

Still seems unacceptable to me. Pull one off the line & ship it out; any delay should be absorbed by your company, not the customer.

No surprise bankruptcies? All big companies it is a surprise, or at least as much of one as they can make it. If you knew the shipping company was about to file you would not use them.... thus reducing their revenue, thus speeding up when they file BK.....

Mihandra's fault in this matter is that they have not pulled the part off the assembly line and FedEx same to the dealer so they can fix the tractor that has already been sold.

Now your just tryin to pick a fight!

In all seriousness, the OP should have a new tractor by now, not a part. Mahindra is missing a great opportunity here to make this right. And, who's gonna pick a fight with a dk40?

I wouldn't want another tractor, I would want my money back. He could have the same problem with another tractor.

Have a friend that used to say "Past performance predicts future results", and you know he was right 99% of the time.

Thank you IH782 for this thread, I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2538, and this thread will spark a good conversation with my prospective dealers.

you say you use the 2538 for land clearing, what roll does the 2538 play in land clearing for you?

thansk

Like BLSXJ, we're looking at a compact tractor for land clearing although not a Mahindra but a JD. Nonetheless, a 40 day parts wait would make me hesitate, no matter what make.
