Can we scan tractor manual pages and post them as a JPEG attachment (image) on TBN? If it's copyrighted I'm guessing not? I just started to do that from my Kubota L3130 manual (not copyrighted) to help answer a question and decided I better ask the question first. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

While technically yes, I doubt any manufacturer would bother for anything like that. If you were selling copies of them, that would a different story.

That should not be a problem, after all they don't mind when you post a picture of your tractor. there have been many post with scans of manuals and such.

Well, guess I am not a man then. Because after two new tractors, I have yet been shown where the oil filter, dipstick or key switch is at. The last one did give me a 3 minute once over on the controls though.

Sure would hate to miss out on one of the filter or a couple of grease zerks that were covered with mud.

Oh, I forgot that it is a tractor and all men know all about them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Murph, Your right real men should never read manuals. So we ask a few questions and then read the posts of fellow TBN'ers who had someone else read the manual to them. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Thankfully, while we never read them we are allowed to copy them and post pieces of them up here as I understand it now. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif So that's the RULE! Has nothing to do with copyright and the sort. Man I was way off!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually everything that's printed is protected by copy rights. Whether the copy right owner chooses to enforce their right is another matter.

Thanks Hazmat! Had to read it twice as I missed the copyright reference, but I see it now. Three times actually. I posted the question after I thought I had read the rules thoroughly the first time. But I hadn't.
