What Brands did you look at, and what did you end up buying?

I started with NH, then looked at Kubota, Kioti, and Mahindra at a new dealer 30 miles away. I like all of them, I ended up back at NH, in part because of a friend's advice.

I looked at JD, Kubota, NH, FarmTrac and Kioti. (would have liked to look at MF but no local dealer that I was aware of).
All the brands I looked at had models I liked.
Purchased a Kioti DK 35. Felt I was getting the most tractor and features for the $$ in my area.

I looked a Kubota BX2200, then a B7500 (both of which were current models in 2000-2001).
A co-worker told me about a used Deere 670 at a local Deere dealer. That's the one I bought. Price was good, a 60" RFM was part of the deal and this tractor was a bit bigger then the B7500.

I ended up with a New Holland. Wish I had bought a Massey or kabota

Rayc45, not to get off the topic, but can I ask why you wish you had got a Massey or Kubota instead of the NH?

I wish I would have looked at Power-Trac. However I didn't learn about it until I found TBN.

The lack of dealerships probably would have prevented me from buying a Power-Trac, but honestly, it appears to be one of the best overall machines for most homeowners. Although pretty clunky in form factor and fit/finish, it is a practical design that would serve most non-farming property owner better than a traditional tractor design. It would also be a great design for horse farms.

There is really no competition for the type tractor I have. Sure tons of other manufacturers make similar tractors... but not quite like my Kubota B7410. It is a very simple fully functioning tractor with few features. I needed a small tractor to do routine tasks every so often. I didn't want to spend more money for things I really didn't need. JD, NH, Mahindra, MF, etc. would have cost thousands more for things I really didn't need or want to spend the money on. About the only thing that compared with the B7410 to me was a Kioti LB1914 and I didn't have much interest in that model.

I looked at MF, JD, KUB NH, Mahindra, and a few grays and oldies.

What did I get.. well.. I'm working on one of each.. (grin)

Seriously though...I seem to like NH / ford...

I was looking at the Kubota 2630/3030, did NOT LIKE THE SEAT at all. I just did not feel comfortable on the tractor, I still do not know if it was all the seat or the way the tractor was laid out. Was also looking at the 2520 deere, nice tractor but I have always thought that you paid alot for the name, not the equipment, and the lift capacities seemed a little low. Was wanting to look at a 1528/1531 Massey and found a NOS 1428v Hydro at a dealer.
I got a really good deal because AGCO was wanting all of the old stock gone. Tractor feels good, easy to operate except I keep reaching for the gear shift  . I could not be happier at this point with the tractor. Have used it to reshape a baseball diamond, using an 84" woods box blade, and yes, it will pull the blade full of dirt, just wont pull it very well with the scrafers(sp?) down, also cleaned out the front ditch and have mowed the yard with it. In all total I have spent about 15 hours on the tractor already.
I wanted to look at the AGCO version also because of the color, was raised on an Allis. But the dealer told me he could not get within a couple of thousand in price because of the deals AGCO was offering. So I have red not orange.

I looked at Jinma, Deere, New Holland, Kubota, Massey and Mahindra. I bought the Mahindra and have been happy with it. The distance to the dealer was important to me, although the selling dealer hit some hard times and got out of most tractor sales and Mahindra completely. I was fortunate that the line got picked up by a long established Massey dealer even closer to me. In hindsite, I think I would have been less lead by the salespeople and more knowledgeable through research, would I shop now. The Jinma dealer was very knowledgeable about his product and is still selling them, I just didn't get a feeling it was for me. The Kubota/New Holland salesman was just a little too busy to give the attention I thought the potential purchase warranted. The Deere dealer pushed me to the low-end and I was looking for a little more featured machine. The Massey dealer, (now Massey/Mahindra) was good to deal with but, the Mahindra dealer was customer oriented, helpful, a pleasure to deal with and I liked what I saw. He got my $.
