Rear Blade What can a rear blade do for me that my box blade can't? Road and ditches mainly

What I have learned from reading through this thread: 1)There are many ways to skin a cat. Some people find one type of implement easier to use than someone else for the same type of job. That may be because their skill levels with that implement vary, or their work site has different characteristics than someone else's, or a multitude of other variables. 2) Not all rear blades, scrapers, and box blades are comparable in quality and function to other rear blades, scrapers, and box blades. 3) Heavy generally means better in all things related to tractors. 4) All jobs are made easier if you have enough financial resources. 5) Some people who post on forums have really thin skin and are quick to attack anyone who disagrees with or is perceived to insult them. A well rounded thread:).

You can't reach that from your seat.

Why do you think that?

Here is my reach just turning around, not even moving my but out of my seat;

That looks plenty far to reach a handle mounted behind the top link hole.

Well it came in yesterday, it's still in a crate, and it actually looks really puny to me.

They said they'll have it together tomorrow.

I can't wait.

**** yeah

Great advice on the 8'. I wouldn't have been satisfied with any less and more would've been a little too much in the dirt.

So I can definitely see where a gage wheel would be really sweet when finish passes are made, and even when digging ditches given the way the road bumps and undulates. I might look into that or getting the shoes for the blade. This is a very versatile tool but it won't replace my box blade.
