Moved some more firewood up to the house this morning. Ground was still frozen, so no mud issue. Might have been able to do it by hand, but it would have taken much, much longer. Plus the Blue Djinn looked lonely and bored, so I figured why not. Poor thing was thirsty too, so it got another 4 gallon diesel cocktail.

I wish. I can't hardly walk around my yard after all the rain.

yeah it's wet here too, there are parts of my yard I don't even look at for fear of getting my eyes stuck, LOL.

today we built the dog pen. My fence un-roller was a huge help! the son in law said he'd never put up fence as easy as this was. With the quick hitch, I could pull past the post, set the box down, turn around and hook up the chains and pull it tight while he stapled it, then undo the chains and turn around and pick up the box again and pull the next side.

From the starting point of stapling on the fence to the corner, all the way through adding the T posts and hanging the gates and putting the dog in, right at 4 hours to do a 50x50 dog pen.

Secondthoughtsville sets in. Did I really need it? Was it the right thing to do at the right time? Were there other machines, even if used, that would have been a better choice? Did the Want-It-itis win out?

you've used it, and enjoyed using it while you were getting things done. It's probably not something you're going to use every day, maybe even weeks at a time. But having it when you need it is really nice.

Now, spring is right around the corner and you'll use it even more. Yes, it was the right decision

I'm behind on a few days worth of getting to use mine. We've had the flu passing around the family this weekend and I haven't felt that great today, which was a killer because it was a beautiful 72* day outside. I just didn't have the gumption to get out and do a lot. I have to catch up on loading pics on the PC and I'll catch up

Landscape rake .... 5' or am I limited to 4'? I'd like to rake beyond the wheel track width. Maybe a 5 with a few tines removed?

Need to till up an area that is basically weeds on red rock gravel. That will pull up a substantial collection of fist sized rocks that I want to rake off for use elsewhere before seeding for grass.

I pull a 6' with mine, it doesn't really gather up much stuff to hold you back so not hard to pull at all. go with the 5' and I wouldn't worry about removing the tines unless you just have to. One thing to remember, is it will swivel, so if you're pulling it at an angle, you'll still want to be able to cover the tire tracks

ok gonna catch up several days worth of pics. Some of the last ones I did post were moving the old sidewalk out of the way. Last week, I dug it out, formed it and poured a new sidewalk. I have one of those cheap HF electric mixers, and buy the concrete in bulk from Home Depot. Unloaded the pallets with the pallet forks, we covered that last time. So time to pour the sidewalk. Anyone who's used one of those mixers knows it's not the easiest thing in the world to dump a bag of mix in there, so I busted the bags into the FEL bucket and shoveled them in. Made it a lot easier...

ok so sidewalk finished. Next thing was after 4 days, take off the forms and fix the yard. our front yard has (had) a 'bowl' to it, so I used the tiller to cut it all up, then the box blade and pulled the rim to middle. Planted a cheap bag of grass seed and covered it with hay. Wet ground doesn't till or spread very well, so this is something I may have to 'redo' once we're out of the monsoon season here in NW GA

ok so to keep one post from being so long....

yesterday, I put the modified hay rake on and raked up the last of the pine straw. We had another side of the porch to fill in under the picture window. 3 loader buckets there, and a couple around to the side of the front porch where I messed up a little while I was working on the sidewalk/front yard

while I had the rake on there, I went ahead and raked part of the side yard, it's a mix of pine straw and leaves. so for now those piles are where they are, and will be burned when the opportunity arises.

finally, today I got around to building a set of legs for the BX42 limb chipper. That's been on my 'to do' list for a while, it was just a matter of getting it done. I have a good bit of chipping to do, and my two reasons for wanting legs on it was to level up the PTO shaft when it's running, and to get it off the ground high enough without having to have it propped on something to get the quick hitch under it. I did chip a small pile this evening just to make sure they're how I wanted them.
