Seem to be having a bit of trouble getting out of 4W into 2W. Sometimes it goes real easy, but most of the time I have to fiddle with it. Pedal jiggling or rolling doesn't always do it either. Lever ends up between somewhere without a solid click like usual. Sometimes I have to change H-N-L position to get into 2W again.

Must be some combination I'm missing.

every 4 wheel drive I've ever had seems to be that way, esp if you've been in it a while. Even my ATV. Seems when I stop to change, I almost always have to ease whatever direction I was going for a just a bit again as I make the switch from 4 back to 2.

Put the new shooting berm into action today. Used the LS to get that plate rack in place. The rack has to weigh near 500 lbs. There is a concrete base on it that is 30" in diameter and near 4-ft. tall. Not sure what that amount of concrete would weigh. But then up top is a used road grader blade for a bullet deflector if shots are low.

We now have a 100 yard range for rifles and the two berms are great for pistol and shotgun use.

LoL. Central Kansas. My daughter's house. Actually my daughter lives with her Mom, but I'm there 80% of the time. My daughter's step-dad and I are pretty good friends. They own 7 acres and he and I work on their property a lot.

I have the same occurring difficulty with the 4wd lever. I noticed the easiest "switch" happens when I'm just moving forward a little bit, while still moving, but foot off the pedal. I believe the lever is still "tight". Today was the first time I was shifting in and out of 4wd frequently and noticed what you were talking about.

OK I quoted both of these posts because today it hit me I said it wrong. it'll switch out easy if you stop, and reverse direction for just a foot or so. So if you were in 4WD, and going forward, and you want to come out of 4WD, stop and back up a bit, it'll come right out. same principle for if you were going backward, stop and ease forward a bit. It's like you have to let the pressure off, although I know that's not what it really is....or is it??? ;)

When mine doesn’t want to come out of FWD, it means the system is bound up a bit. Try turning right then left while slowly moving forward. While applying a little pressure to the handle. When the binding relaxes from turning, it should drop right out.

On one of these threads somewhere, somebody suggested using the FEL to lift the front tires slightly off the ground to 'release' that binding to change out of 4WD. I haven't tried it yet though.

My LS XR4155HC and previous XR4046HC shift in and out of 4WD easily. I just do it on a level area where gravity isn't trying to move tractors forward or backward.

Never tried raising the front wheels with the FEL ...... as never needed to.

Had to go down the road, went to switch out of 4W, bound up. Did the FEL wheel lift, lever snapped right into place, free and easy.

Got down the road and dug a hole for a cow that didn't make it through calving.

I had a few minutes after work today so I broke out the LS along with the Wicked Twin. I laid a couple cross ties down and went around and picked up all the pipe and stacked it up getting ready for mowing. When I shut it off I noticed its time for the 1000 hr service.
