I popped the hood on and parked it outside in the rain.

Sat Dorris on it to keep the seat dry:D

I changed all fluids and filters on my bx except for haudraulics and coolant. I have been beating the crap out of it moving downed trees, burn piles and digging. I figured it needed a reward.

Removed a thick layer of ice from my paved driveway with the 524FEL. Would rather remove snow, but with the winter we're having.....

Thought I'd go through my new to me tractor and possibly change out the oil and do some other maintenance items I noticed during my pre-purchase inspection. Turns out the dang dealer changed all the fluids and fully serviced it for me before delivering it. Everything I planned to do had already been done, so I just cleaned her up a bit and checked fluid levels. Pretty good dealer service, they didn't even tell me they were going to service it and I just assumed they wouldn't since it had just been through it's 50 hour service. Hopefully the ground will harden up so I can use it without sinking a foot into the lawn.

I followed the warm up instructions with frost on the ground and took the time to check the wheel torch and look over me new used tractor (now. 20 hrs of use) for loose bolts pins etc. I practiced with the box scraper smoothing out the path fro my backyard to my 4wooded acres. Then did a little fence work. That FEL sure beats a wheel barrow for moving fencing tools, posts, etc. Ended the day moving some logs I had cut to the length to the FEL to my wood yard. The forks allowed me to move three or four at a time.
Still had time for a lunch and a nap.
Looking forward to the longer spring days soon

This weekend - deepened and widened my road side ditch to fix drainage issues with curlvert constantly plugging up, fixed some potholes in the neighborhood road, and started my first 10 hr greasing. Asked a question today on another thread about greasing so I could complete my task without messing something up and got my usual great TBN responses filled with knowledge I previously did not possess. Will finish tonight/tomorrow and prep it for more play. Still waiting for a dry enough week to really do some much needed box blade work.

Well I managed to break it:ashamed:

Dug a trench about 50 feet long and three feet deep and the pin that holds the dipper to the other arm came out. I forgot to weld the flag back on the pin so it wasn't retained....doooh!!

Fix it in the morning and dig some more trench:D

I finally changed my Ford 641 from 6 to 12 volts. Instead of cranking forever and charging way too often I can now start it in less than a second. Wish I had done it sooner. Had to buy a battery, alternator and coil resister. Will change lights later. Bob

Got it dirty:)

Well that was two days ago but I mislaid my camera.

Dug most of the drainage trench and the little Ford did a wonderful job, dug through clay with relative ease:)

I was invited by the Workshop Manager to participate in my engine's test-drive on a stand. The main goal - to check how's the oil pressure behaving in different temperature and rpm/load conditions.
After a couple attempts to adjust relief valve (just for the test), the decision was made to replace an oil pump and relief valve kit. The scratches on both internal sides of covers and on both sides of pump gears badly influenced to the oil pressure - reduced it.

Unfortunately the oil pump kit is not available in both distributors - neither in Kubota UK, nor in Kubota Europe (France). It means we'll have to wait for 2-3 weeks the kit to be delivered from Japan.

The cylinders were honed in 0.5 mm, new rings end pistons are fitted, the crankshaft was ground out in 0.2 mm, new shell-bearings are inserted. Engine starts and runs perfectly, produces no blue smoke anymore.

That was today's activity around my tractor :)
