What do you think of this idea?
When my track came off, inward, I struggled for hours with crow bars, and other levers, after backing off the track tension. Not until I removed the sprocket was I successful. One of the videos I considered posting for Sonny, showed the guy putting track on using a strap and the bucket to pull it on.
I didn't like that idea so I didn't post it.
I am not doubting you when you say you have to remove the drive wheel when track is off on the inside, but I don't understand why? I have rolled it around in my head, but fail to see the issue.
Absolutely,,, I enjoy trying to help people on here. I have been helped a lot by you guys, so I try to return the favor. When my track came off, inward, I struggled for hours with crow bars, and other levers, after backing off the track tension. Not until I removed the sprocket was I successful.
I have not tried using a strap. Definitely worth a try if this happens. This is why we post these success stories, right?
They are very useful machines. It sure is nice to have all the information on this site. If you enjoy doing repairs and improvements yourself, you will probably enjoy owning one.I have not had to the time to really dig into this thread. But I have watched a few videos on these baby diggers recently and I am VERY impressed!! I don't really have a need for one right now and my financials need to recover from a few purchases before I could even think about buying one. But I could see one of these in the stable in the next couple of years!! I was at the property yesterday afternoon daydreaming about a project that would be perfect for one of these machines. I will need to go through this post in it's entirety, but I am afraid it is going to make me want one more. Good stuff, thanks for taking us on the journey.
Thank you for your kind words. If you haven't done so already, you should check out these threads also:I have not had to the time to really dig into this thread. Update: I got a text from AGT in Chicago about 2 hrs after I placed the order. It said order has been shipped and had UPS tracking number. I accidently sent a text to AGT that my package has shipped and that is great customer service,( text was meant for my wife). A minute later I get another text from AGT thanking me, and asking if there is anything more I need?I have been looking for an 8" bucket and I just ordered one from AGT. I was on their website looking for the hydraulic pickup tube extension. Out of stock on the ext, but I found this bucket for $165 tax and delivery included. seemed like a great deal. Will let you know when I get it.View attachment 855082
Its extremely hard on the track/wheel guide projections if you don't release tension on the track before doing that and it doesn't appear that they did. Other wise that is how its normally done. Which a skid steer on tracks you need another vehicle many times to help. What do you think of this idea?
