Not having driven the others in woods, I can't really comment, but the specifications aren't that different.
  • 1430: 53" wide, 4' 4" turning radius, 65" wheelbase, length not listed on the Power-Trac website
  • 1445: 56" wide, 4' 5" turning radius, 74" wheelbase, 121" long
  • 1460: 59" wide, 5' 10" turning radius, 82" wheelbase, 134" long

All the best,

Peter

Yes, I have been studying up. When I was at the showroom, inside the building and the only time I seen a 1460, it looked really big. Of course at the time my perspective with Power Tracs was only with the PT180, the smallest. So now after much use of with the 1430, it might not be that big of a jump.

Thanks

I run my 1850(w single wheels) in the woods a lot and am consistently surprised how nimble it is. One spec not on their site is psi on the ground. It's worth knowing if you are working soft ground

Loving the new fork attachment!
Made a wood platform for the forks.

Then moved two truckloads of stuff and about 100 sheets of 4 by 8 rigid insulation out of a tent I was using for storage. Worked great!

My property is wooded. I'm in Virginia.
I am happy with the manueverability and I am enjoying the machine more and more with this fork attachment. Can't wait to try out the new grapple to move some brush soon.

M5040- If you ever come down this way you are welcome to try out my 1460.
Ponytug-Very Nice chipper!

If you look around you can find heavy duty plastic pallets generally for free. They mae a good flat platform.

Thanks for the offer!

The platform looks useful. Just a thought for you and others, do the forks go in a (4 sided) pocket, or just under the platform?

I have found if they are not in a pocket and if you step or load the outside edge, the platform tends to tip up. So just a precaution to think of. When you have stuff like that around over the years, it gets used for things you never intended from the beginning. Be safe.

Been plowing snow during the last 2 weeks occasionally , we have gotten 3 different days that it has snowed anywhere from 3 to 8 inches.

Me too. I've been using the light material bucket to get in close to some tight spots and to scrape up some packed ice and snow on the asphalt. Was using the plow whenI figured the bucket would be easier for those spots vs trying to back-drag the packed ice out. As usual, the quick attach makes it so easy to select an implement.
