What did you get your wife for Valentine's Day

What I got her:
1. Kimber double-barrelled pepperspray gun from Cabela's (she likes running and we live in the middle of nowhere)
2. Chocolate scented wooden wick candle (smells great, less fattening)
3. Darned expensive card

What she got me:
Homemade buttered rum and candied pecan cheesecake
6" bench vise
Guitar tuner
Card
....and a few other things ....well it was my birthday today.

BTW - yes, the pepperspray gun does work on animals. We have a friend who used the same gun I got my wife on a pit bull that was chasing her and it immediately took off, yelping w/ tail between it's legs and a mouthful of red spray.

Niether of us support the over commercialized "hallmark" holidays.

I agree 100%. Years ago I banned all bought cards...well banned with a wink and a smile. I suggested we all make hand made cards ONLY.

I have to admit even I got involved. Boy have we come up with some fun cards. Cards made with Pasta noodles glues, large poster size cards, computer made cards, etc. etc.

One thing the family has realized is while we are making the card for that person we are spending some quiet time really thinking of the person we are giving the card to.

Oh ya we also saves a ton of money. $6.00 - $8.00 for a card. Heck I can buy a book for that or a years subscription to some magazines. Over a year we can spend the day a Disneyland by not spending that card money on all the family and friends.

hallmark has got to making some money on a piece of paper for that kind of money.

SIX TO EIGHT BUCKS for a card....no way...anybody who pays that much is insane. There is a party shop/card store a 3 mile drive away, you can buy cards for a dollar or two, and really nice ones for $2.99. I will tell you how expensive cards CAN be, my wife got the "Stamping Up" fever and spent thousands of dollars for card supplies and after the first two dozen cards she made (beautiful ones) she decided she wanted to start another hobby.

I'm with you man wife is giving me the "i wanna Honda Pilot" I see nothing wrong with her 08 accord.........almost paid off 49k miles

As far as valentines... A card, Dz red roses, cake from her favorite cake shop, long weektrip to hilton head, no new car.

One day I will have to break down and buy her one. Maybe next valentines day, have to wait to see if I get pepper sprayed. She is half Polish and half Norwegian and does have a temper at times.

Thankfully for me, my wife doesn't have much of a temper and still likes me.:thumbsup:

Yeah, btdt. Wife has cases of stamps in the basement, don't wanna know how much that cost. Really don't want to think about those stupid baskets either.
