What Do You Do With Your Waste Oil?

Anyone have advice on good - VS not so great waste oil burner? Building a shop this year and might be good to consider a waste oil burner.
Cleanburn......IMHO Best on the market. The first one we had for 19 years with only minor repairs halfway thru (burner rebuild). Our second one (250k btu) is 6 years old and we have 5900 hrs on the meter and has only had a yearly cleaning in combustion chamber, never any issues, same nozzle. Clean stack and will burn everything from crankcase oil, hyd oil, trans oil, gear lube, vegetable oil, diesel and rancid gas.
We heat 6000 sq ft with 23’ ceilings and it is toasty warm.
Our model requires a dedicated air compressor 24/7 when in the heating system but some have built-in air supply.
We found it’s best to do our own cleaning and service as the local oil heating specialists don’t know how these things run, most issues is from oil that is donated that has water, antifreeze, brake fluid or other foreign non burn able sludge. We try to pump out the bottom of all oil we don’t generate to inspect the water content but most oil burned here is clean 90% hyd oil from our workshop.

Walmart or auto parts stores here take it, they have to. Up to 5 gallon a day. Or buy an old army deuce and half and burn it for fuel

I take it to the "municipal recycling center".
Formerly known as.......the town dump.🙂
They have a bulk tank there, and will even pour it in for you!

We pay a small additional fee for recycling and including weekly garbage pickup fee it's about $23 per month.

Recycling truck comes by every two weeks and picks up recyclables like used lubrication oil, antifreeze, papers, batteries, plastic bottles, glass etc. but no hazardous waste.

Our local landfill takes all waste oils. I dump it into drum. They use it for heating. No charge.

I use it to paint fence boards, posts I sink into the ground, coatings for the tops and bottoms of my wood floored trailer. Etc.

Screw ‘em. They’d hate to see how many sets of tires I go through on my ‘68 Barracuda when I burn ’em off. Lol. Solid roller cam high strung small block and a 4 speed, very fun!
we can still have fun out here in the land of the communists.

Best way to use the drain oil as it is better than
paint! Also water proof.
