Permanent antifreeze, same as in the radiator. Since I have much more animal-unfriendly and earth-unfriendly fluid in the 3 car, 1 truck and 2 tractor radiators here than my R4's will hold, why lose sleep over springing a tire leak any more than about a radiator spewing the stuff. If the truth were known, there's probably more environmental damage caused when I eat cabbage or baked beans.......................chim

In my area its common to use windshield washer fluid (I think that is what is meant by "blue light special"). Wont rust, won't freeze, and cheap to buy. Also more "environmentally friendly" than other chemicals.

I have not tried slime in loaded tires, but I don't think it would work too well. Unless you spent about 500.00 a tire and filled them with slime /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif That would seem to be the perfect solution, no leaks and weight too.

Of course using "home made " alcohol could be fun. You could have a leaky tire party /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Loaded tires and people.

I suppose they could also be loaded "Bud or Miller", that would make for interesting time, especially when you needed to lower the pressure in the tires.

Dourobob- " blue light special" refers to windshield washer solvent that I purchased from K-Mart. When they have an in- store special, it is announced as a "blue light " special. The solvent I purchased, however, was advertised in a Sunday newspaper. Having the tires filled with foam is another alternative. I saw a set at the tractor dismantlers and I was astonished at how heavy they were and at the same time how soft (resiliant) they were. I guess if your lottery ticket comes in it would be the way to go.

Hi,

I got my front tires on my B2910 Kubota foam filled after my first flat within hours of starting to cleaning up the back area of our place, which was formerly the place where the owners dumped thier old bottles and cans, back in the days before trash pickup. Cost something like $47 per tire. No more flats...

To foam fill the rears tires would have cost about $250 each. I decided to use WW fluid in the back...very cheap...and to foam fill the rears as well if punctures became a problem. No rear flats yet...

Nice thing about foam is that it has all the good points...in the end they cut the tires off and you can reuse the rims...

Once foam filled, those front tires sure became heavy!
