What else do you do with forks besides lift pallets?

Just be aware that pallet should be secured to the fork carriage to satisfy the "safety gurus". Jon

The "safety gurus" also insist on a safety harness. It makes sense and a lot less expensive than a funeral or long-term care.

We installed an earthen bridge over a creek using 3-24"x20' horns (corrugated steel pipes). Forks just slid right under, a little tilt back, a little up and away I went. At the drop zone just let go of a little tilt till they just rolled off in place. Neat.

Well, not really pallet forks.

But I took the forks off the pallet frame, and used it as a carrier for my snowplow rather than spending the money on a blank SSQA plate.

I made my forks a little longer and then attached a 2x6 between them so I could handle 4x8 sheets of plywood length wise inserted into the bucket.

I use my forks for moving around brush piles and logs.

The PO was a Canadian,, his company moved him to Roanoke VA,,, he brought it along for free.
THEN,, he got ready to retire,,, and found moving the tractor back would be on HIS nickel!! :confused2:
The price to move it was going to be about a dollar a pound,, the 584 weighs 10,000 pounds.

He quickly decided to sell,, I quicklier decided to write the check.
He lived 29 miles from me,,, and his wife asked "How are you gonna get it home??"
I told her,,, "Right down your driveway!",,,, I drove it home that day.

That is a good looking 584 and I can't recall ever seeing one in FWA. How many hours on it? What do you do with it?

I've done 22 miles on the highway and that was near impossible. Can't imagine 29 miles. Hope it was summer.

3,500 hours

I mow about 15 acres,,,

and take care of my driveway with my DIY landplane

I moved a half million pounds of compost with the 584,,, (yes, I did keep a record!!)

AND,,, I move all of my projects with the 584,,,

I have yet to find the limit of the tractor,,,, it has done everything I have tried to do.
I did grow up with a 2020 JD,, which is virtually identical, so, I kinda know what not to try,,,
