What else do you do with forks besides lift pallets?

Ah no, even empty the pin weight is too high to be able to lift it with the FEL. Let alone move it around over uneven ground.

Turn it around, chain it down and you can use your tractor for moving your trailer around.

We used to do that with full sized fifth wheel plates to move empty semi trailers around.
That brought back memories from 17 years ago:

Xfaxman - You do not even list that Massey in your tractors.

Found a new thing last weekend. I had an old cultipacker that had been here since I bought the place 25 years ago. It was already very rusty and would not roll then but I had nothing to lift it and just never got around to cutting it up to get it out of here. And of course over time a tree grew up through it and wrapped itself around some of the bars. Since I got my Versatile with the forks and it was soft last weekend I decided that it would be a good time to try and move that cultipacker which had of course sunk into the ground some over time. So under the cultipacker went the forks but lifting wasn't doing it with the tree roots anchoring it well. Slowly though I eased it forward with lifting pressure on and finally the tree roots gave way and the unit moved. not sure I could have done it without the forks because the bucket wasn't going under it.

no curl action here, even the steering was slow to respond

When I am brush hog mowing in the pasture, if I see it in time I like to stick the forks into an ant hill and mess it up..

Then kind of hover over the ant hill with the brush hog a bit.. It really messes up there day..

I ordered a nice plastic pallet, the most common pallet size and 6000 pound capacity, to fit in my car. I also plan to use it as a work platform or scaffold, noting that unlike boards it can't slip sideways off the forks or tilt off because the tines pass inside it. I'll find a convenient spot to chain it to the fork frame so it can't slip off the ends, too, if I'm relying on it not to fall. (Yes, FELs aren't supposed to be counted on for safety, but I think a fall from 4 or 6 feet is a small enough risk.)

And the pallet arrived the other day.

When I order something big and heavy and rough, it arrives on a pallet. The most recent example would be the pallet forks themselves. But when I got this pallet, it arrived in a full sturdy cardboard box, with big "FRAGILE" stickers on it.

It is the tractor I sold 11 years ago when I got my first compact telehandler, the V518:
