What features or improvements do you wish your Kioti had?

On our DK45, the oil fill on the engine is in a horrible location, very hard to add oil. Also, I'd like to see better protection under the tractor. There are too many electrical and hydraulic connections in harms way. There's a couple of things I'd rather NOT have like push buttons for PTO and FWD engagement. Give me a lever and I'm happy.

From my experience, the majority of the designers, engineers etc of most companies are not actual users, so all the little nuisances that become big nuisances are things that they think nothing about. Never even enters their minds because they DO NOT deal with it on a regular basis. :(

And I second that thought!----and I wish my Kioti was a Kubota. I never met an engineer that was also an operator If I was managing a tractor factory, Operating would be a prerequisite for a design engineer, or a general sales manager! Of course, I would fire the marketing people...and no Accountant should ever be in servicing.:pullinghair:

We have frost down to 47" right now and it has been a mild winter. Mild. Winter.

This is the exact reason I totally refrain from tractoring underground during the winter months!

(......I so apologize for the above comment :duh: , something momentarily took over my keyboard. :ashamed: I hate when that happens!
Though..... I do understand your point regarding a cold weather package.)

Don :)

Thanks guys, lots of great suff.

That's a great point about getting on and off all the time.

I can remember a few times hanging from my jeans/belt off the loader joystick, feet dangling in the air when I had my Bobcat CT.

I also remember making out with the steering wheel every time I had to lean down to put on the parking brake.

There are now simple/easy tasks that I don't even attempt because of the number of times (wasted time) required to get on/off and just wait for my wife or dad to be around to take the seat while I do the guiding/loading/adjusting.

Self-drying, heated seat for those of us with open driving stations.

Especially when moving snow in sub-zero temperatures.

Mine's an older model and some of this may have been addressed on the newer models, but my biggest complaint is that controls could have been better thought out/located. I'm always bumping my knees on the flasher switch or ignition, catching a foot or pants cuff on poorly placed levers (4WD & PTO especially) or rubbing my right thigh raw on the shroud for the 3PH lever.

Other than that, about the only thing I'd do was to make a block heater standard or use pre-heaters with a little more oomph.

From my experience, the majority of the designers, engineers etc of most companies are not actual users, so all the little nuisances that become big nuisances are things that they think nothing about. Never even enters their minds because they DO NOT deal with it on a regular basis.

Very true, though certainly not limited to tractors. Can't think of any vehicle I've owned that didn't have one or more awkwardly placed or badly designed controls.

The on/off issues is big with me. That coupled with the limited leg space on the back hoe can make for some very sore knees..lol not as young as I used to be. Also the ignition and light switches should be watertight.

Also the ignition and light switches should be watertight.

Supplying an OEM key with a rubber boot would be pennies well spent by Kioti/Daedong. Plowing during a snow storm (snow melts on the key and runs down the shaft into the ignition switch) almost always guarantees a froze up ignition switch next time out. I keep a hair dryer plugged in (covered storage) next to the tractor for thawing the ignition switch.

Regarding the emergency flashers on a 2005 CK30, I fashioned a collar out of a small piece of PVC to 'lock' the switch in the 'on' position. Otherwise, every time I look down, my knee has bumped the switch to the off position.
